Victoria Adams - Teacher of The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method
What was your overall opinion of the training?
I thought the one-on-one training was excellent, as I was able to learn in a relaxed environment whilst working within a structured training plan. The course covered all aspects of Face Yoga as a subject, as well as the approach towards teaching it. I especially enjoyed the detailed study of the bones of the skull and muscles of the face, which was made incredibly easy to grasp considering the subject matter. There was always time for questions (great or small), and plenty of time was given to prepare for the practical and written assessments. Oh, and we managed to fit in the Upper and Lower Face Workouts twice – my skin was glowing by the end of the day, sans make-up!
What was the most important thing you learned from the training?
I think the most important thing I have got out of the training is gaining a better understanding of the practice, which has helped me to improve my articulation and instruction in future classes. The training showed me how malleable Face Yoga is as a practice, in that it involves acupressure techniques, massage, relaxation and wellbeing as well as the more obvious facial exercises.
What was your favourite thing about the training?
I can’t decide whether I most enjoyed the double facial workout, or learning about the bones and muscles of the face – something so relevant/important to us all, yet something we know very little about.
If you were to recommend the training to a friend, what would you say?
We should all have a sense of responsibility to our personal practice (and the health of our own skin!) as well as to the wellbeing of our clients. The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Teacher Training is an excellent course which offers a method to help keep you looking (and feeling) better, and a way to make a living from it, particularly in conjunction with other therapies. I would recommend this course even if it’s not to teach but just for our own personal practice.
Do you plan on using your training with clients. If so, how?
I plan to incorporate my training in Face Yoga into my current yoga one-to-ones. As I build up my knowledge and confidence teaching Face Yoga, I would like to hold group classes and workshops in my local area. (I’m thinking Tupperware-style Face Yoga parties!)
