BLOG 330: 5 NECK FIRMING AND SMOOTHING TIPS FOR YOU TO DO TODAY
Aug 08, 2025We can find that the neck area ages faster than the rest of our face. Whilst there is nothing wrong with this, as getting older is something to be celebrated, if you would like your neck to look a little smoother and firmer in a positive holistic way, here are my top 5 tips:
1. Focus on posture: sitting and standing in a way that doesn’t compress or crease our neck can make a huge difference both immediately and long term. When we ‘hunch forward’ we create horizontal lines, weak miscues and fluid retention. To remedy this, imagine your feet grounded on to the floor and a string from the top centre of your head up to the ceiling. Drop your shoulders to ease tension and when you use a screen lift it up to eye level.
2. Do some facial exercises: taking just a few minutes a day to lift and tone your muscles can help to smooth and firm the skin attached. One of my favourite exercises is to gently tilt your head back and bring the tip of your tongue up and down towards the roof of your mouth at a rate of one tap per second. Repeat 30-60 times, working to your own level.
3. Take your skincare all the way to your chest: we often forget to use our skincare and SPF on our face and chest area but it is important to remember this as these areas need as much, sometimes more, nourishment and protection as your face.
4. Massage: a few simple uplifting massages can really help your neck to look and feel healthy and glowing. Apply some moisturising serum for glide and massage gently using an upwards action from your collar bone to the chin. Follow with a light tapping motion with all your fingertips all the way over your neck.
5. Lymphatic drainage: doing some gentle detoxing massages can help your neck area look more sculpted and healthy by shifting some built up toxins and fluids. With very light touch, stroke downwards on the side of your neck from behind your ears to your collarbone. Then lightly pulse on your collarbone.
These tips are really simple but really effective. Just focusing on your posture, extending your skincare and adding in a couple of minutes of massage and exercises can help your neck to look smooth and firm.
