BLOG 361: 5 REASONS YOU THINK YOU SHOULDN'T TEACH FACE YOGA (BUT PROBABLY SHOULD!)
Sep 06, 2026
Have you ever thought about becoming a Face Yoga teacher, only to immediately come up with all the reasons why you shouldn’t?
Perhaps you don’t feel confident enough. Maybe you think you need years of experience in the wellness industry. You might worry that you don’t have enough followers, that you’re too old to start something new or that now simply isn’t the “perfect” time.
Over the years, I’ve heard so many variations of these worries from people who are considering taking my Face Yoga Teacher Training.
And what I’ve learned is that often, the things we think are signs that we shouldn’t do something are simply fears that are keeping us from taking that first step.
So if you’ve ever thought about teaching Face Yoga, here are five reasons you may think it isn’t for you – and why you might actually be more ready than you realise.
1. You’re waiting until you feel 100% confident
One of the biggest misconceptions is that confidence has to come before action.
In my experience, it’s usually the other way around.
You take a small step, you learn something new, you practise, you gain experience and gradually your confidence grows.
You don’t need to start your Face Yoga Teacher Training already feeling like a confident teacher. That’s part of what the training process is there to help you develop.
Give yourself permission to be a beginner. You don’t need to know everything on day one.

2. You think you need to be a wellness expert already
You really don’t.
Some people come to Face Yoga Teacher Training with experience in yoga, beauty, skincare, fitness or another area of wellness. Others come from completely different backgrounds.
What matters far more is your willingness to learn and your desire to share Face Yoga with others.
My Face Yoga Teacher Training takes you through the techniques, knowledge and teaching skills you need so that you can gradually develop your own confidence and teaching style.
You aren’t expected to arrive already knowing how to teach. That’s what the training is for.
3. You think you need thousands of followers
This is something I think has become particularly common in the age of social media.
It can sometimes feel as though you need thousands – or even hundreds of thousands – of followers before you can build a successful wellness business.
But you really don’t.
There are so many different ways you can use your Face Yoga Teacher Training. You may want to teach one-to-one sessions, small groups, online classes, workshops or incorporate Face Yoga into something you already offer.
You don’t need to become an influencer.
Sometimes a small, engaged community and a genuine passion for helping people can be far more valuable than a huge audience.
4. You’re worried you’re “too old” to start something new
I hear this one a lot, and I really want to challenge it.
Your age and life experience can actually be some of your greatest strengths.
You may understand your clients in a way you couldn’t have done 10 or 20 years ago. You may know yourself better. You may have more patience, empathy, perspective and understanding of what you want from your life.
There is no age by which you need to have everything figured out.
I’m a huge believer that we can continue learning, changing and beginning new chapters throughout our lives.
So please don’t automatically see your age as something that holds you back. It may actually be one of the things that makes you a wonderful teacher.
5. You’re waiting for the “perfect time”
There may never be one.
There will always be other commitments, reasons to wait or things you want to sort out first.
Sometimes we can spend so long waiting for everything to line up perfectly that we ignore the little nudge inside us saying, I’d really like to do this.
I’m a big believer in listening to those nudges.
That doesn’t mean making impulsive decisions or forcing something that doesn’t feel right. But it does mean being aware of when fear is disguising itself as “I’ll do it later.”
Sometimes the perfect time is simply when you decide you’re ready to begin.
So, should you teach Face Yoga?
Only you can answer that!
But if confidence, age, social media, lack of previous experience or waiting for the perfect moment are the things stopping you, I’d encourage you not to automatically take those as signs that Face Yoga teaching isn’t for you.
You may actually be more ready than you think.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be ready to begin.
