BLOG 389: LASER RESURFACING AT HOME: MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE TRIA FRX SKIN REJUVENATING LASER
May 14, 2026For many years now, I’ve loved combining holistic wellness practices & my Face Yoga with beauty technology that genuinely supports healthy, glowing skin in a natural and non-invasive way.
As many of you know, I’ve used the original Tria at home laser for years as part of my skincare routine. It’s something I come back to again and again because I personally notice such a positive difference in the overall brightness, smoothness, and texture of my skin when I use it consistently.
So when Tria sent me their new Tria FRX Skin Rejuvenating Fractional Laser (2nd Gen) and asked me to try it and give my honest opinion, I was genuinely excited. I’ve trusted their technology for years, so I was very curious to see how this new version compared.
After testing it properly within my own routine, I wanted to share my experience, my results, and exactly how I use this type of laser skin rejuvenation at home.

Why I Personally Like At Home Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Firstly, I want to say that I’m always very mindful about anything I use on my skin. I naturally lean towards holistic, gentle, non-invasive approaches and I love treatments that support the skin’s own natural renewal processes.
What I personally like about fractional laser technology is that it works below the skin’s surface to encourage collagen and elastin production over time. The Tria FRX uses a non-ablative fractional laser, which means it works beneath the surface of the skin without removing the top layer.
The device uses a 1440nm wavelength laser and creates tiny microscopic treatment zones in the skin. As the skin heals, it encourages fresher skin cells along with increased collagen and elastin production.
For me personally, the biggest benefits I notice are:
Softer looking fine lines
Brighter, fresher skin
Improved skin texture
A smoother overall appearance
More glow and radiance
Skin that simply looks healthier and more even over time.
I also really like that it’s an at home laser treatment which is easy to fit into everyday life.
How I Use The Tria FRX Within My Skincare Routine
One of the questions I get asked most often is how frequently I use it.
Over the years, I’ve found a rhythm that works really well for my skin. I usually use the device consistently for around 8 weeks, then I take about a month off before starting another cycle again.
The official Tria guidance recommends using the device five times per week for up to 12 weeks, followed by four weeks of rest for the skin.
Personally, I think consistency is key with this type of facial laser treatment. It’s not about overnight results. It’s about gradual improvements over time.
I tend to use it in the evening after cleansing my skin thoroughly. The treatment itself feels warm and prickly but I personally find it very manageable. My skin usually looks mildly pink afterwards for a short while, so evening use works best for me.
I also make sure I’m really supporting my skin during this time with hydration, nourishing skincare, Face Yoga, facial massage, good sleep, stress management, and daily SPF.
I truly believe skin health works best with a combined approach rather than relying on one single thing.
What’s Different About The New Tria FRX?
One thing I immediately noticed with the new Tria FRX is that it feels more streamlined and easier to use.
The updated model has improved battery life, faster USB-C charging, improved thermal performance, and updated technology compared to the older version.
The battery lasts significantly longer which I found really helpful, especially when using it consistently across several weeks.
Tria also explains that the device is suitable for all skin tones and types because the laser targets water within the skin rather than pigment.
Another thing I personally appreciate is that there’s minimal downtime compared to many in-clinic laser skin resurfacing treatments. Because this is a non-ablative laser, it leaves the skin surface intact whilst still supporting collagen renewal underneath the skin.
My Overall Thoughts
Overall, I genuinely enjoy using the Tria FRX as part of my skincare and wellness routine.
I don’t see it as a “quick fix” or something that replaces healthy lifestyle habits. Instead, I see it as one supportive tool which can work beautifully alongside Face Yoga, nourishing skincare, relaxation, hydration, and consistent self-care.
For anyone interested in laser skin rejuvenation, fractional laser technology, or at home skin resurfacing treatments, I think it’s a really interesting option to explore.
As always, I recommend reading all safety guidance carefully and speaking to a medical professional if you have any concerns or skin conditions before starting laser treatments.
