BLOG 351: STARTING A BUSINESS IN 2026? 5 LESSONS FROM 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE
Jan 17, 2026If you’re thinking of starting a business in 2026, or you’re already running one and want it to feel more aligned, sustainable, and fulfilling, I want to share a few lessons with you.
These aren’t trends, hacks, or quick wins. They’re insights shaped by over 20 years of my entrepreneurial experience, building a business that supports not only mine and my family’s financial freedom, but also gives me wellbeing, purpose, and balance. I see so many incredible women with beautiful ideas, healing gifts, and powerful visions… yet they feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or stuck. Very often, it’s not because they’re doing the wrong thing, but because a few key foundations are missing.
Here are the five principles I believe will matter more than ever in 2026 and beyond.
1. Consistency Is Everything
Consistency is one of the most underrated success tools in business, and one of the most powerful. I honestly believe it is one of the main reasons I have survived and thrived in business for 20 years.
I don’t just mean posting regularly on social media (although that helps). I mean consistency in:
* Your messaging
* Your branding
* Your values and vision
* Your marketing
* Your products and services
* The way you show up and serve
When your audience sees and feels consistency, it builds trust. And trust is what turns a curious follower into a loyal customer, student, or client.
You don’t need to reinvent yourself every few months or chase every new strategy. In fact, the businesses that grow most sustainably are the ones that stay rooted in a clear identity and repeat their core message with confidence and clarity. I think this will matter even more in 2026.
2. Add Genuine Value in Everything You Do
This is something I come back to constantly in my own business.
Before I create a class, a product, a post, or a programme, I ask myself:
How will this help someone?
How will it improve their life, even in a small way?
What problem does this solve?
When your focus is on adding real value, your business naturally becomes more magnetic. People feel it. They enjoy it. They share it. It becomes less about you and more about the mission.
Whether you’re offering Face Yoga classes, wellness sessions, coaching, products, or online courses, value should be at the heart of everything. Not perfection. Not pressure. Just genuine care for your community and the intention to help them.
3. Calm Your Nervous System (This Is Non-Negotiable)
This one is so underestimated, yet absolutely essential and to be honest, at the core of so much of what I do.
If your nervous system is constantly dysregulated, stressed, rushed, overwhelmed, it becomes incredibly difficult to make clear decisions, show up consistently, or truly enjoy your business.
When your nervous system feels calm and supported, you:
* Think more clearly
* Feel more confident
* Communicate more authentically
* Serve from a grounded, relaxed place
This is one of the reasons my own daily practice of Yoga, walking, Face Yoga and other wellness routines are so key not just for my health, but for my entire life and business.
A regulated nervous system allows me to grow without burning out. And in 2026, sustainable success will matter far more than hustle- I really feel we are in a new paradigm of business
4. Know Exactly Who You’re Here to Serve
Trying to be everything to everyone is exhausting, and ineffective.
One of the biggest shifts in my own business came when I got very clear on who my ideal customer is and who I’m not for. I didn’t try to ‘people please’ everyone. From there, everything became simpler:
* My messaging
* My offers
* My content
* My marketing
When you know exactly who you’re speaking to, the right people feel seen, understood, and supported, and the wrong people naturally will find their aligned teacher elsewhere.
5. Have a Clear, Anchoring ‘Why’
Your ‘why’ is the foundation of your business.

It’s what keeps you going when things feel slow, uncertain, or challenging. It’s what guides your decisions. It’s what brings meaning to the day-to-day. Your why doesn’t need to sound impressive, it just needs to feel true at a soul level.
Maybe it’s freedom. Maybe it’s helping others feel confident in their skin. Maybe it’s helping people to heal. Maybe it’s creating a life that works around your family. When you know your why deeply, everything else becomes easier to navigate.
A Final Thought for 2026
Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in business for years, these five principles are a powerful compass:
